The Journey
Wandering hills and forests, we met fascinating people, shared stories, and found beauty in hidden places. Beside rivers, atop mountains, around long tables. Somewhere in our wandering, we realised joy is simple
The things that help us feel most connected to the human experience are often remarkably uncomplicated. Good company. Beautiful landscapes. A sense of adventure. Breath. Nature. Communication & Silence.
During your Maiden Voyage, together we will help create space for you to begin your journey
The Letting Go
What to Expect
Every morning begins with a shared Alexander Technique practice, creating a common rhythm for the day ahead. From there, each practitioner brings their own discipline, experience, and perspective, exploring breath, movement, meditation, creativity, play, and mindful practice.
Every day is different, and the rhythm tends to unfold naturally. Mornings begin with a communal breakfast, and evenings are mostly spent gathered by the fire, either in quiet reflection or shared storytelling.
Expect long lunches, relaxed dinners and fresh vegetarian cuisine inspired by the season and region, served in a traditional table d’hôte style. Sharing a meal is one of the oldest ways humans connect, and we use these moments as anchors for the group to exchange insights and stories. Meals will be among some of the most memorable moments of the week.
Shared accommodation at Les Labadous in Rennes-le-Château, a tranquil domain and sunlit residence in a storied landscape which offers a powerful combination of inner sanctuary and outer exploration.

What Awaits You
The landscapes surrounding Rennes-les-Bains have been drawing people towards them for centuries. Pilgrims, mystics, artists, historians and wanderers.
The region is rich with stories of the Cathars and their final stand, stories of hidden knowledge and sacred geometry. Stories connecting the land to Mary Magdalene and the Divine Feminine, of earth energies, ley lines, ancient springs, forgotten pathways, and places where people have gathered for generations to contemplate their relationship with the world around them.
Throughout the voyage, we move through these landscapes by following what we call the Elemental Arc. Together, they create the rhythm of the journey.
Our shared retreat base is more than just a place to sleep; it is a site of energetic significance. Surrounded by wild nature and silence, it offers a space of deep restoration and connection. At its heart, a sacred fire will burn continuously, tended day and night. After each day’s elemental exploration, you’ll return to the warmth of this living flame.

Earth
The Forest of Nébias
Ancient woodland pathways winding through moss-covered stone and towering trees. A place of grounding, listening, and presence.
The forest invites us to slow down, pay attention, and reconnect with the simple act of being.
Water
Rennes-les-Bains
Natural springs, rivers, and flowing water have shaped this village for centuries.
Long associated with healing, restoration, and renewal, Water reminds us that movement and softness often achieve what force cannot.

Air
Bugarach
The mountain that dominates the skyline and captures the imagination of all who encounter it.
A place of perspective, possibility, and expansive thinking. The climb invites us to look further, breathe deeper, and see beyond familiar horizons.
Ether
Rennes-les-Château
Perhaps the most intriguing village in France.
A place where history, mystery, symbolism, and speculation intertwine. Questions tend to linger here longer than answers. Curiosity becomes a guide.

Fire
Montségur
The final ascent, the last Cathar stronghold.
A place of courage, conviction, transformation, and remembrance.
Fire represents the moment when experience becomes understanding & where the journey begins to settle into something we carry home with us.
The Fire Guardian
Each evening we gather for reflection and ritual around the fire that burns from the moment the retreat begins until the moment it ends. The fire is our companion & witness, the sacred heart of the journey, it listens to your laughter, silence and prayers. It flickers as people open, memories surface and something ancient stirs.
